The beautiful islands of the Sporades in northern Greece offer sheltered and unspoiled anchorages, sandy white beaches and spectacular scenery. From Skiathos sail to the small ports and unspoiled bays of the Gulf of Volos, or venture further north to the Chalkidiki peninsula and Mount Athos, home to medieval monestaries, or the modern marina at Porto Carras for some shoreside relaxation.

The sailing in the Sporades and Chalkidiki Peninsula is extremely easy, as the Meltemi does not blow as strong as it does further south. The wind predomninantly is north-easterly, however this can change to south-easterly between the islands in the Chalkidiki Peninsula, blowing force 2-4.
There are direct charter flights from the UK to Skiathos, or you can a scheduled flight to Athens and transfer to Skiathos by ferry or fast Hydrofoil.
