Dear Dan,

Welcome to the latest LateSail.com newsletter. I hope that you had a great Christmas and on behalf of all the LateSail team wish you a happy new year.

In each of our newsletters we put the spotlight on one of the many cruising grounds we love to sail. This time we provide an insight to sailing from Antigua, with it's rich history and 365 beeches, a truly perfect Caribbean destination.

How late is late?

Team LateSail The most common question we are asked at LateSail is "how late is late", to which there is no definitive answer. The later you are looking to book your charter the higher the level of discount you can expect to receive (we have organised charters starting the same day they have been booked) however whenever you are looking to book we can help. Our website lists the best offers we have been told about, but there are many many more yachts available all the time and we can usually obtain attractive discounts.

As an independent broker when you request a quote we contact the fleets who could meet your requirements and invite them to make their best offers. We then compile their offers come back to you with a selection of all the offers from which we are happy to help you choose the right yacht to suit at the right price. So whenever, wherever you are looking to charter contact us for all the best offers.

Spotlight on Antigua
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Antigua beach Antigua is situated at 17N and 61W - offering a perfect location from which to explore the Leeward Islands. The island of Antigua is 108 square miles and offers an abundance of glorious anchorages and bays (365 beaches in Antigua and Barbuda alone!). Antigua's sister island of Barbuda is a 4 to 5 hour sail to the north - offering everyone's idea of the 'real' Caribbean - remote and incredibly beautiful. Barbuda's coast boasts 11 miles of uninterupted beach littered with tiny shells that give it a pink glow. Superb snorkelling and basking turtles in the crystal clear waters make for an unforgettable anchorage.
Antigua has been a sailing mecca for many many years, and this has been helped in part by the world famous Antigua Sailing Week which takes part every April attracting around 300 yachts from all over the world. Sailing week crews congregate around Nelson's historic dockyard in English harbour and it is easy to see why, as the only remaining Georgian dockyard in the world it provides a fascinating insight to a past world. With an array of stunning beaches, beutiful scenery, intriguing history and truly welcoming people Antigua really is a joy to discover.
