Here you can visit the many historic and absolutely beautiful seaport towns. The Western area has deeper water and keeled yacht access everywhere, whereas in the Eastern part a shallow draft is essential. The area presents an opportunity for island hopping and seal spotting is a popular activity.

Sailing conditions

Winds tend to blow from the east averaging 15-25 knots. Navigation can be difficult due to numerous reefs. Best time to visit is between November and June.

Getting there

Daily flights are available into Schipol Airport in Amsterdam, including most low-cost operators. It’s approx 30 miles from Amsterdam to Enkhuizen.
