You will begin your charter on Raiatea, nicknamed “The Sacred Island,” in the heart of ancient Polynesia. From jagged volcanic peaks to stunning waterfalls and breath-taking lagoons, you will be surrounded by picture-perfect scenery. Snorkel and dive with exotic sea-life in paradise. Whether on land or sea, you will not run out of things to see and do in the South Pacific.

Sailing conditions

A yacht charter in Tahiti is an opportunity to sail in a cruising ground that allows both for line-of -sight navigation in the calm waters behind the reefs and also more exhilarating open-water passages. The tidal range is negligible, but narrow passes between reefs demand careful navigation. Wind speeds generally range from 10 – 15 knots and temperatures range from a low of 25 C to a high of 35 C in summer. Ideal sailing time is April to October. Winds can reach speeds of 20-25 knots in July and August, creating swells of 3-5 feet, and making this a location for an experienced sailor.

Getting there

After a stop in the international airport of Papeete-Tahiti, you will take a plane with a local company on to Raiatea. The base is just a short drive from the local airport.
