CANCELLATION:
If the charterer is unable to set out on the journey as being booked, he has to
cancel the booking without any delay, in order to enable agency for finding of
an alternative chartering party, if possible. If the agency succeeds in finding an
alternative chartering party for the same period, charterer will be reimbursed
for any effected payment, less the cancellation fee equal to any difference
between the amount canceled and the amount received from the alternative
chartering party, plus a handling fee of 5 percent of the contracted amount. In
any other case of cancellation or no show, the charterer is obliged to pay a
cancellation fee amounting to 50 per cent of the contracted sum
(if the booking is canceled two months before departure at the latest), or 100
per cent of the contracted sum (for any other short-term cancellation or no
show). All the above cancellation fees serve to compensate the respective loss
caused to the agency by the cancellation (lost earnings). We therefore
recommend to take out insurance for cancellation fees.
